"It was then, the complaint describes, Hendricks ran off. Nurses then
found the baby on the floor crying about three to four feet away from
the cot.
The complaint explains, "The baby was crying, but had no immediately
apparent visible injury. A subsequent CT showed, however, that the child
had a linear skull fracture to the...skull...The child had been given
weekly head ultrasounds before that date, none of which showed that
injury."
Prosecutors thus believe Hendricks either dropped or threw the baby as he ran away from police."
